Denmark and Germany approach tourism record

This year, both Germany and Denmark are about to see record tourism numbers. In the first half of 2015, German hotels and pensions with ten or more beds registered 193.7 million overnight stays in total, reports the German national statistical service. This is three per cent more than in the same period for the record year 2014. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists, however, has grown five per cent.

The same goes for Denmark, which also set a record in 2014. Visitdanmark reports 18.1 million overnight stays in total in the first half of 2015, which is an increase of 4.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. Overnight stays of foreigners grew with five per cent, and overnight stays of Germans grew with 5.5 per cent.
