Copenhagen gets a taste of how Hamburg sounds, jazzes, rocks, glitters, relaxes and pulses with almost 30 concerts and performances on 18 and 19 September.
The center of Hamburg on Tour is Nytorv in Strøget in Copenhagen, where the set from Hamburg have established an “Event Village” with information booths, shopping tents and an outdoor stage.
The Northern European metropolis will also crop up in other areas of the town. Jazzhouse, Cafe Rust, Papirøen and Gloria Kino are abundant with cultural events offered by Northern Germany’s capital, and most of the events are free.
Sailors brand Hamburg
The visually most noticeable impact of Hamburg’s tour in Copenhagen is 25 large sailor figures. The sailors will be set up in various sites in the city, and passerbys can find program folders as well as postcards in their shoulder bags.
“We feel especially comfortable and welcome in Copenhagen. We are connected through rigorous, long-standing co-operation,” says Thorsten Kausch, Regional Sales Manager of Hamburg Convention Bureau.
This is the second time Hamburg sets out to charm one of its neighbours’ capital. The concept Hamburg on Tour began in 2014, where the tour visited Austria’s capital Vienna.
